Mosquito Control

Mosquito

The City of Vicksburg's Mosquito Control Department is dedicated to controlling the population of mosquitoes within the city limits. The safety of the public is our main priority. Surveillance, adulticide, and larvicide are the strategies for controlling the population of mosquitoes.

This department begins spraying for mosquitoes starting in late March and ends the season in late November. (Weather determines when the season will start and end.) The department employs two drivers to run the mosquito trucks six (6) day per week (weather permitting). These trucks are equipped with advanced technology which will record, monitor, and control the chemical and routes on a daily basis.
