The City of Vicksburg, in partnership with the American Red Cross, is proud to offer the 2025 “Learn to Swim” program at Vicksburg City Pool. This program provides professional swim instruction for children and adults of all skill levels.

Registration Information:

Dates:

  1. Wednesday, May 14 – Friday, May 16: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  2. Saturday, May 17: 10 a.m. – 12 noon

Location:
City Park Pavilion | 900 Lee Street| Vicksburg, MS

Program Details:

Level Courses (1–6): For students ages 5 and up who can stand comfortably in the shallow end of the pool. Instruction ranges from beginners (Level 1) to advanced swimmers (Level 6).

  1. 3 & 4-Year-Old Lessons: Parent or adult guardian must be in the water with the child during lessons.
  2. Beginning Adult Lessons: For adults with little or no swim experience.

All classes are taught by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.

Cost:

$15 per two-week session
Cash or check only. No credit or debit cards accepted.

Schedule Overview:

Each session includes eight 45-minute classes, held Monday through Friday, with two additional days built in to accommodate possible weather-related cancelations.

Summer 2025 Session Dates & Times:

Session 1: June 2 – June 13

  • 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.: Levels 1–3
  • 11:00 – 11:45 a.m.: Levels 4–6
  • 5:45 – 6:30 p.m.: Levels 1–3, Beginning Adults

Session 2: June 23 – July 4

  • 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.: Levels 1–3
  • 11:00 – 11:45 a.m.: Levels 4–6
  • 5:45 – 6:30 p.m.: Level 1, Levels 4–6, 3 & 4 Year Olds, Beginning Adults

Session 3: July 14 – July 25

  • 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.: Levels 1–3
  • 11:00 – 11:45 a.m.: Levels 4–6
  • 5:45 – 6:30 p.m.: Levels 1–3, 3 & 4 Year Olds, Beginning Adults
Important Notes:

Early registration is strongly encouraged, especially for Level 1, Level 2, and the 3 & 4-year-old classes, due to high demand and limited space.

Appropriate swimwear is required. T-shirts, play clothes, or undergarments are not permitted in the pool.
