Fence and Deck Permits

A permit is required to construct a fence over 6' high, decks, or other similar structures within the City of Vicksburg. Once a complete set of plans for the construction is approved by the City of Vicksburg Building and Inspection Department, a building permit for your fence or deck will be issued. The cost of the permit is based on the cost of construction or valuation of the project.

Plan review of your project may find that your construction is not in compliance with zoning regulations in your area or that the work will require additional digging permits before construction can proceed. In these cases, the Zoning Administrator will contact you to inform you of next steps you will need to take, such as applying for easements to ensure proper zoning or contacting utilities before you dig.
