IMPORTANT WASTE MANAGEMENT COLLECTION NOTICE

The City of Vicksburg contracts out garbage collection with Waste Management. Rules for garbage collections are negotiated and directed by contractual agreement with Waste Management, and may change from time to time based on the contract renewal. Garbage fees are standard on all active water and sewer accounts for residents, and cannot be waived individually based on utilization of the service.  Please be advised that per the rules governing garbage collection, all waste MUST be inside the City issued containers in order to be collected by Waste Management.  Also, Waste Management will collect one container per garbage collection per residence twice a week.  Any waste that is not inside of the City issued container will not be collected by Waste Management.  Further, additional garbage containers or other receptacles outside of the one City issued container will not be collected by Waste Management, but will be the responsibility of the residence’s owner or occupant.  We know that this is a transition due to the new agreement; however, we ask that you continue to work with the City throughout this process.
