 Working smoke detectors can greatly increase your chances of surviving a fire in your home or office. To increase the chances of surviving a fire, the City of Vicksburg Fire Department encourages all citizens to install and maintain approved smoke detection devices in each bedroom and on each floor level of their residence. Since the majority of fire deaths that occur in residential occupancies are caused by smoke inhalation, it is important that all citizens have the early warning a smoke detector can provide.
The City of Vicksburg Fire Department does not currently provide smoke detectors to residents.
