 The Vicksburg swimming pool and sports complex was constructed to Olympic specifications to serve recreational, instructional & competitive events in water sports. Construction was completed in 1996. The complex consists of an olympic size pool and a baby pool for the younger swimmers. It is paid for by taxpayers of Vicksburg. The facility is dedicated to those who enjoy the sport of swimming.

| American Red Cross Lifeguarding Class |
To be eligible for the class candidates should be at least 15 years old by May 22, 2013. Before admission to the course each student will be asked to complete a 300 yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke; tread water with legs only for two minutes; and complete a timed exercise swimming with a 10 pound object. The class is limited to 15 students. To register please call the City Pool at 601-634-4516. If no answer, please leave a message. |

Hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday
Recreation/Open Swim - 1-5 p.m.
Family Swim (No one under 18 without family) 6 - 8 p.m./ During Swim Lessons - 6:45 - 8 p.m.
Weekends/Holidays:
Recreation/Open Swim - 1 -5 p.m.
Swim Lessons will be held in three two-week sessions:
June 3 - June 14 at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5:45 p.m.
June 24 - July 5 at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5:45 p.m.
July 15 - July 26 at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5:45 p.m.
Vicksburg City Pool will be closed for public swim on May 31 - June 2 for the Vicksburg Swim Association's Stamm Invitational Swim Meet.
Office Hours will be from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Vicksburg City Pool will hold an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Class from May 13 – May 22 at the facility on Lee Street. The 28 hour class will meet from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each weekday afternoon and on Saturday, May 18 at a time to be determined. Veteran Lifeguard trainers Bob and Susan Athow and Sylvia Gurtowski will instruct. Cost of the class is $115 and is payable to the City of Vicksburg.
