The South Ward Alderman represents the people of Vicksburg's southern district. Alderman Sid Beauman was first elected to the position in 2001.  The position is one of three full time administrative positions elected by the voters of Vicksburg.

My goal as South Ward Alderman is to serve the citizens of Vicksburg to the best of my ability. The only way this can be accomplished is for the citizens to become a part of the process. I can only hope that all of the people of Vicksburg will lend their time, wisdom, and knowledge to their elected officials to make Vicksburg a better place to live and rear our families. There is a huge job in front of us and a grand history behind us. If we are wise enough to utilize these two things and work together as a community we will reach our goal. Stay excited.
