On Thursday, May 18, 2017 numerous law enforcement professionals from around the State were honored at the 2017 TOP COP event that was held at the Mississippi Trade Mart.  Among the honorees were Chief Walter Armstrong and Officer Alexis Hall of the Vicksburg Police Department. 

HonoreesThe Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolence Club recently honored three City employees. Officer Eric Paymon of the Vicksburg Police Department was honored as Officer of the Year. Firefighter Derrick Holt was honored as Firefighter of the Year and Mrs Alberta Wheeler was honored for "Excellent Customer Service".

escapee min On Wednesday morning, March 2, 2016, just before 6:00 a.m., Rafael Arnez McCloud, 34 years of age, escaped from the Warren County Jail. McCloud is 5’6 tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. McCloud was charged in the rape and capital murder of Mrs. Sharen Wilson which occurred on June 28, 2015.
